After his superb performance in House Of Gucci, playing Paolo Gucci, in a masterful transformation to someone older, Jared Leto will change his appearance again just a couple of months later. This time he will do it progressively in Morbius, the film where he plays the enemy of Spider-Man.

“Michael, I’ve known you since you were a child…”, thus begins the short and long-awaited preview of the film, which will be released on January 28, 2022. Jared Leto seems to promise to burst the box office with his rare physical metamorphosis, where his extreme state of thinness passes to a resistant musculature.

There is nothing to worry about: Jared knows how to get out of his way and regain his body condition. From a person with difficulties to mobilize to a vampire who, with his superpowers, explodes his head: strength, high sense of geolocation, very accelerated healings, and speed. “There is an answer to your illness, you will find it”, is heard in one of the lines that will happen the obsession of Michael Morbius to recover quickly and heal others.

Who is Morbius?

Before watching the movie you will surely want to have a brief review of Morbius. The enemy of Spider-Man is one of the characters that at some point was forgotten. However, it comes to prove the reasons for its continuous appearance escapes: it is one of the most conflictive in the history of Marvel.

He is a biochemist who has an advanced disease – rare and uncommon – to the point of leaving him with blood disorders. That is why he decides to use a vampire as a scientific experiment and, thus, fight with his internal conflicts that he considers dark to face himself and the world.

The story becomes a central focus of attention since it is the first time that an extension will be made on the life of one of Spiderman’s enemies. However, in 1971 a production was launched where Morbius was one of the main ones: Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1., 101.

A multiverse? It’s possible, given that a brief but substantial appearance by Tobey Maguire in the Spidey Maguire suit while doing some graffiti threw up the possibility of a cameo beyond a few seconds. Speculation or would it really be a cruel taste of his fans? We would have to wait for it. Oh, and as if that weren’t enough, Michael Keaton’s Vulture is added Jonah Jameson and Toomes will be present in the film.

Details behind this multiverse

This production is generating high expectations, due to its similarities to the dark visual tones of Venom, which also shows a bit of rawness, vampires, and other details that, for yourself, you should observe and realize. Also, if we talk about the notable references, it makes perfect sense that the environment, assembly, and style are similar to that of Venom and Spider-Man ( Homecoming ) for two important things: their producers are the same.

His trailer has come out and has generated positive (and slightly anxious) reactions from fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is verified that Sony bets and gives everything for it to nurture that multiverse. Not forgetting that there are high-profile speculations on the Internet: Mystery’s murder could mean that they are preparing for the third installment of Spider-Man, once Peter’s identity is revealed. It is also rumored that we could see a Morbius cameo in the next Spiderman installment. You have to wait to see which of all the versions is true.
