This Wednesday, Disney shared through its social networks the first image of Tom Hanks characterized as Geppetto, where he can be seen in his workshop with the Pinocchio doll.
“Pinocchio” is expected to hit the Disney Plus platform in mid-September. This new adaptation of the novel by Italian writer Carlo Collodi will adapt the live-action format, combined with CGI.
The future film is under the direction of Robert Zemeckis, famous for his work on “Back to the Future”, “ Forrest Gump ”, or “Cast Away”, among others.
THE CAST OF PINOCCHIO
Also, “Pinocchio” will feature a cast full of renowned actors, such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Jimpa Cricket), Cynthia Erivo (Blue Fairy), Keegan-Michael Key (Honest Juan), Lorraine Bracco (Sofia the Seagull), and Luke Evans (the coachman).
In this new production from the Micky Mouse company, we will witness the classic story of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet created by the carpenter Geppetto, who dreams of being a father, and whose dream will come true when the Blue Fairy turns the doll into a real boy.
Disney released its first adaptation of Collodi’s story in 1940, becoming one of its great classics, and one of the company’s most characteristic characters.
For several years, the powerful entertainment giant has chosen to take up its classic films and bring them back to the big screen with real actors, as we have seen with ” Beauty and the Beast “, or ” Aladdin “.
