Ann Gloag, co-founder of Stagecoach, has been arrested for people trafficking.

Dame Ann Gloag, one of the co-founders of Stagecoach, has been accused with offenses related to the trafficking of humans.

After an investigation into allegations of human trafficking and immigration offenses, Scotland Police have reported that four people have been charged in connection with the probe. The charges have been refuted by all four parties.

Gloag “vehemently opposes the vicious charges” that have been made against her, according to a representative for the Scottish transport multimillionaire.

A spokesperson for the organization stated that they were unable to comment on the specifics of an ongoing investigation; however, Gloag stated that she “strongly disputes the malicious allegations that have been made against her,

Her foundation, and members of her family, and will vigorously defend herself and the work of her foundation to protect her legacy and continue her work helping thousands of people in the UK and abroad every year.” [Citation needed]

Together with her brother Brian Souter, Gloag established the Stagecoach bus company in 1980. She was honored with the title of dame in 2019 in recognition of her achievements in the commercial and nonprofit sectors.

DWS Infrastructure is currently in charge of managing the business, which is the largest bus and coach operator in the UK.

According to the website for the Gloag Foundation, which was established by Gloag as a charitable trust, its mission is to provide financial assistance to initiatives that “avoid or relieve poverty and stimulate the advancement of education, health, and religion in the UK and internationally.”
