BET Awards 2022
The BET Awards are almost upon us, and some of the biggest names in music are gearing up to perform on Sunday, June 26. Lizzo, Jack Harlow, and Chance the Rapper feature in the award ceremony’s star-studded lineup, while Oscar-nominated actor Taraji P. Henson hosts the main award ceremony.
The 2022 BET Awards will air live across the Paramount family of networks, with the ceremony airing live on BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, and VH1. It is also simulcast on BET Africa and BET France and will air on My5, Sky On Demand, and BET Pluto in countries where those services are available. BET and the other channels will broadcast the event beginning at 6 pm ET when viewers will get two hours of red carpet coverage before the ceremony begins at 8 pm ET.
Doja Cat leads this year’s nominations with six, though she’s not on the artist list. Also nominated for multiple awards are Ari Lennox and Drake (with four each). Of the artists, Chlöe has the most nominations with three. Sean “P Diddy” Combs, meanwhile, walks away with a lifetime achievement award.
This year’s hosts include Oscar-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya, as well as his No co-star Keke Palmer. Other presenters include Idris Elba, Janelle Monae, and Big Freedia, who took the stage just days after appearing on Beyoncé’s new single.
Lil Nas X is conspicuous by his absence from both the nomination and this year’s lineup of artists. This fact was not lost on the artist, whose new individual artwork features an image of him appearing to urinate on his BET Award. Previously, he tweeted “thanks to the betting prizes. Again zero outstanding nominations,” before deleting the post.

On the BET Amplified stage (for more up-and-coming artists) are GoGo Morrow and OGI. In the lead-up to the BET Awards, the network will air BET Awards ’22: Red Carpet Live! from 6 pm ET onwards. Pretty Vee and DJ Jae Murphy will interview the stars on the red carpet, while Affion Crockett hosts the official Twitter live stream. The red carpet show will also include performances by Capella Grey, Fast Life Yungstaz, Juvenile, Pheelz, Saucy Santana, and Victoria Monet.
