In the cutthroat entertainment industry, it’s impossible to succeed without help from others. Having a shoulder to depend on is important for everyone, even the rich and famous.

Famous people in the LGBT community are often vocal supporters of equality causes. As a result, they frequently accompany their significant others when out and about, beaming with pride and contentment.

However, we typically don’t learn much about their partners’ lives, either because they aren’t popular enough or because they choose to keep their personal lives secret. Because of this, we’re going to reveal the significant others of 30 of the most well-known LGBT celebrities today:

1. Wanda Sykes and Alex Sykes

These two are the very definition of giddiness and euphoria when it comes to their love life. Unapologetic and completely, utterly in love with each other, Wanda and Alex tied the knot sometime in 2008.

Their coming out was certainly a shock for the public and the fans at that time. But the shock was soon smoothed over after seeing how happy they are with each other.
Not to mention they met the then President Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama and introduced each other as “wife” which, as Wanda later confessed, was as awkward as it was crazy!

2. Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli

The breakthrough show “Orange is the New Black” became the setting of the budding romance between these two lovebirds. Quite fitting too how, just like the show itself, Wiley and Morelli challenged the unconventional and went on to claim their happiness unapologetically.

Theirs was a whirlwind romance, covered by the news all over at that time and we couldn’t be happier seeing them make public appearances together. They obviously make each other very happy and that’s all that matters in the end, does it not?

3. Sarah Pollson and Holland Taylor

Now this one left everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, flabbergasted. It’s not so much the fact that they are gay but the whopping 32 year age gap that got the tongues waggling.

These two started dating bank in 2015 and made the brave choice to do it openly rather than keeping it a hush-hush, despite the raised eyebrows and endless stream of questions thrown their way.
And just like Paulson said herself, their relationship, though not something ordinary, is a statement of “hope and risk” and I say, kudos to them! You go, girls!

4. Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef

God, if these two had a child! It would be the most gorgeous being on the damn planet. Because would you look at the jawlines on these two!?

They look like living, breathing Greek statues. These two are one of the most perfect pairings ever! Oh and did I mention that they had a dreamy wedding too, to celebrate their love?
Yep! Got engaged in 2016, married in 2018. And what’s more, they are always seen swooning over each other in all their public appearances.

5. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka

This list wouldn’t be complete without the mention of these two. And unless you’ve been living under a rock your whole life, you’ll have heard of them already.
Neil Patrick, the How I Met Your Mother, star has been showing us the true meaning of continuing, undying love for over a decade now with his partner, David Burtka.

Neither of them ever shies away from declaring their love in public, whether it’s on birthday, anniversaries, or in public gatherings. And I have to admit, they look the cutest ever, especially when they color co-ordinate with each other. My heart goes “awww” every single time I see them together!

6. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Love her, hate her, but you cannot NOT know her, am I right?! Ellen is no stranger to fame and we are no stranger to her name. And although she can come off as a bit strong sometimes and rather rude, her unapologetic acceptance of herself and her love for her partner is to be congratulated and admired.

After all, they have been inseparable for over 15 years now! That’s something right? Where most of us cannot swing a relationship that’s longer than, what, a second, THEY have been together for more than a decade!

That’s remarkable. Portia de Rossi’s love for Ellen is undeniably adorable as well. She went all weak in the knees and her heart went fluttery the first time she met Ellen and god, oh god, it’s too cute for words!

7. RuPaul Charles and Georges LeBar

Here’s another veteran of long-term relationships for you. It’s been 23 years now that both of them have been dating and yet RuPaul prefers to keep his relationship with his boyfriend a private affair. So private that were you to ask him some quirky questions about their love life, he will brush them over faster than lightning!

But hey, who cares? They are together. They make each other happy. And they have passed a mark in their relationship that you and I are only dreaming of still so, that’s something, huh?

8. Elton John and Davin Furnish

Their love story began in 1993. Seems like a whole other age now, doesn’t it? And it’s so heartwarming as well, especially when you think about how many years both of them had to wait so they could marry each other and not be shot down for it!

Their dream of being legally married came true in 2014 and it’s the cutest thing ever seeing them together. Furnish’s display of affection on social media and real life gives hope to us all.

9. Sam Smith and Brandon Flynn

An actor and a singer walked in the bar. You know what happened next? They fell in love and said “to hell with the society!” And kudos to Flynn too, to actually get Sam Smith dreaming about writing love songs! That’s one hell of an accomplishment in itself.

Both of them are always lovey-dovey with each other when in public and I wouldn’t have it any other way. What can I say, I am a sucker for cute romances and public displays of affection. And theirs is a love story that looks straight out of a novel!

10. Gus Kenworthy and Matt Wilkas

Tear alert! The story of their confession might make you bawl your eyes out, out of happiness and a sudden pang of realisation of your own loneliness. But I am here to tell you that it’s okay because you aren’t the only one!

It was bacn in 2016 that they declared their love for each other. According to how Kenworthy recounted the story, Wilkas got all shy and self-conscious while trying to get the words out. And then, *cue the tears*, Gus interrupted him with an “I love you”

Oh. MY. GOD. Can you believe it!? And later they cried and everything! Ugh, when will *I* have that?!?!

11. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita

You must know Jesse Tyler already from Modern Family (*if you aren’t a total loser, that is!*) Well him and his lover Justin officially fied the knot in 2013, a very controversial time to do that, i must say.

And yet, everyone who attended their beautiful ceremony was overcome with emotions throughout the event. It was a lovely affair, and their gesture to ask their guests to make donations to a charity instesd of giving them gifts was lovelier still. But then it’s Jesse Tyler we are talking about. That’s just how he rolls!

12. Lance Bass and Michael Turchin

Look at them closely, people, because these two actually made HISTORY! They became the first queer couple ever, to get married in front of the entire world, on national television with a little show of their own, celebrating their ceremony, which you should DEFINITELY watch by the way.

Their wedding looked like something straight out of a fairytale, only much more regal. And why not? They both already look the part, don’t they? There is not a single feature on these two gorgeous faces that doesn’t scream ROYALTY!

13. Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni

I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t shocked out of my wits to find out Cynthia Nixon likes to drive her car on the other side of the road, if you know what I mean! But then, with a husband like she had in Sex and the City, can ya blame her? That little dude was pathetic, both in looks and in hooks.

And although the couple had to wait a long time to finally get married because of legal issues regarding same-sex marriage, the wat was definitely worth it, judging by the breathtaking Carolina Herrera she wore. And here I thought Carrie was the one with all the fashion sense! Boy, how wrong was I!

14. Tom Ford and Richard Buckley

Well, if you ask me, their union seem to benefit them both in ways more than of the heart! Afterall, one is a designer and the other a journalist. Talk about meant to be!

The UK born stars were actually married in the United States though, what with gay marriage still not legal in the Kingdom back at that time. Still, they both look really good together and happy too. That’s the extent of my take on this pairing.

15. Michael Kors and Lance LePere

Another designer in the queer store for ya! Barefoot, on a beach, surrounded by gorgeous waves and the people they love, the couple tied the knot in 2011 and it was every bit as dreamy as you can imagine!

Kors and his boyfriend kept their relationship relatively under the radar for a while though. Not intentionally but just didn’t like to talk about it much in the open.
But their wedding certainly made a statement, which is nothing less than what we expected from a fashion genius like him.
