A 22-year-old man was puzzled by the doctors’ inability to determine why he was crying blood instead of tears.
All the medical examinations of the young Indian have been free from all the diseases or causes that lead to such a thing, the Daily Mail reported.
The hospital report said the liver function test was negative. There were no signs of bleeding or coagulation, and genetic diseases such as von Wilberand (lifelong bleeding), dengue fever and bronchial disease (a bacterial disease that caused several types of bleeding) were ruled out.
Blood tears or crying are known as haemolacria, a physical condition that accompanies certain diseases. It causes the person to hear tears mixed with blood. The condition can be manifested by the person’s actual recognition of blood, not just red tears.
Heimolakria is a symptom of several diseases, which can indicate a tumor in the tear system, or a change in hormones as occurs in some women during the menstrual period, but the case of “Hoemolakria” was unknown reasons for the young Indian, according to doctors.
A medical doctor explained that there are about 30 percent of the case of bloody tears are unknown reasons.
