4 TIPS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR FLOWERS (Updated Sep – 2021)

Beautiful, fresh, in season. The beauty of the bouquet is absolute, especially when you take them out of the box, remove the lace and you are going to put them in that vase you had prepared. When they arrive, the flowers are so fresh they may still be closed.

You will see what a thrill, once they open. We love to see them slowly blossom. But the question is …: how do I take care of my deck (to make it last longer)?

To ensure a happy and long life for your Colvin bouquets, just take a few simple steps. Don’t worry, we’ll help you! Once you have learned how to do it, it will be a real breeze. “Fresh flowers… longer”: that’s what your new motto will be.

Here we are?

1. A little air for your flowers

The bouquet arrives home wrapped in a sheet of kraft paper. As soon as you have it in your hands, take it off. The flowers will need a little air at this point. As you can imagine, they have traveled in the box and need to take a breath.

2. Cut the stems diagonally

Once the kraft paper is removed, it’s time to cut the stems. Scissors in the hand and “zac”, a nice cut (about two fingers) diagonally. If you cut them this way, it will be easier for them to hydrate properly.

3. Freshwater

We know that you have already chosen the vase for your flowers. Just remember to clean it from dust with a cloth, make sure it is clean and fill it with water. NB: the water must not touch the flowers, only the stems. Change it every two days and you will see how long they last!

4. It’s time for nutrients

Inside the box, you will find not only the bouquet but also two sachets of nutrients. Yes, we are great. Thanks to them, your bouquet of flowers will have a happier and happier life. Open the sachet and pour it into the water. If you see that the flowers are lasting longer than expected and you are left without bags, do not panic. We show you how to create the right concoction… with your own hands. With 3 ingredients – which you will surely have at home – you will have homemade vitamins: water, sugar, and lemon.

– Get a glass and fill it with water

– Squeeze the juice out of half a lemon

– Add a teaspoon of sugar

– Stir vigorously

– Dilute the mixture in the fresh (and clean) water of the jar

Ta-daaan! Repeat this practice every two days and keep the flowers fresher than ever!
