Windows 11: New gestures, folders in the start menu, redesigns: this will be what’s new in

Microsoft is rolling out new improvements to the design and usability of Windows 11, and some testers have already been able to use these tools

Microsoft is bringing new touch gestures, Start menu folders, a redesigned Task Manager, and many more improvements to Windows 11.

A new version of Windows 11 is available for testers and it is full of new features that seem to improve the usability of the operating system in general.

First of all, they report that the new Start menu folders will allow Windows 11 users to customize the pinned section of the menu in folders.

Just like we do to group apps on a phone, all you have to do is drag one app on top of another to create a folder for better management.

Also, if you missed using Windows 8, Microsoft is bringing five new touch gestures to Windows 11, like swiping up on the taskbar to open the Start menu.

Likewise, the animations for opening the Notification Center have also been improved, and Microsoft claims that rotating your tablet is becoming “faster” and “more responsive”.

Improvements in design and usability

Similarly, the new Snap Layouts Windows 11 feature is also being improved, allowing you to drag an app to the top of a window and reveal all the layouts you can use.

Following the improvements in the usability of the operating system, live subtitles will soon be integrated into Windows 11, accessible from a shortcut.

Subtitles can float in a window or display at the top or bottom of a screen. This seems like a great accessibility improvement for Windows 11.

The Redmond company is also making it easier to view your OneDrive storage within File Explorer and improving the Quick Access feature.

Last but not least, the Task Manager redesign is now official.

For this reason, It includes a new command bar and a dark theme, along with an efficiency mode that allows you to limit the consumption of system resources.

However, it should be noted that these new Windows 11 features are only in testing at the moment, but they will surely arrive in updates throughout 2022.
