WhatsApp will now allow surveys in group chats

This is an option similar to the one that already exists in the Telegram messaging service.

WhatsApp is developing a new feature for iOS that will allow users to conduct surveys within the application’s group chats, an option similar to the one already existing in the Telegram messaging service.

As published by WABetaInfo, the application has released beta version 22.6.0.70, an update that has been made through the WhatsApp TestFlight program for the iOS system.

With this, changes have been implemented in group chats, where polls can now be carried out through the ‘Create poll’ option. In this section, there is a space to include a question.

From this portal, they have announced that these are end-to-end encrypted surveys so that only the people in these groups will be able to see the question and its results.

It is a function that, at the moment, is under development for the Apple operating system and it is unknown if it will reach Android devices.

This option to create surveys and questionnaires in chats would be very similar to the one present in Telegram since 2018, a tool that was updated at the beginning of 2020 with new ways to carry them out and the possibility of creating ‘trivia’ type contests.

Another novelty that WhatsApp has introduced in recent days has been the animation format in reactions to messages and that will soon be available in WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. Also, WABetaInfo has reported that the app is working on an alternative to reacting to messages in the beta desktop app.

In future updates, the camera tab, located in the upper left corner of the application interface, will also disappear. This button will be replaced by the Group icon for easier access to communities.

Finally, this messaging service is rolling out new settings to manage message reaction notifications and the ability to pause and resume voice memos in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android updates.
