In the framework of the CES 2022 technology fair, Samsung announced the official launch of the long-awaited Galaxy S21 FE 5G, a more affordable version of its flagship from last year that includes “selected premium functions” related to performance, cameras, and connectivity.
The name ‘FE’ refers to the term Fan Edition since it is a model dedicated to the followers of the brand. “We are focused on delivering a smartphone that meets your most important needs,” said TM Roh, president, and director of the Mobile Experience business at Samsung Electronics.
The phone integrates a 6.4-inch 2X Dynamic AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. It is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The back is made of composite plastic material with a matte finish available in four different colors. Like the other models in the series, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G features the Contour-Cut frame that integrates the case with the camera module.
Also, the phone has IP68 certification for resistance to water and dust (it can withstand submersion of up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes), a USB Type-C port, an optical fingerprint reader, and NFC support.
On a performance level, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G comes equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, which comes with 5G capabilities. This configuration is accompanied by 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM memory and 128 GB / 256 GB of internal storage.
It has a 4,500 mAh battery, which supports 25 W super fast wired charging and promises to fill more than 50% in just 30 minutes. In addition, it supports 15W wireless charging 2.0. As an operating system, it runs One UI 4 based on the latest version of Android 12.
On a photographic level, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a 32 MP front camera and a triple rear camera system composed of a 12 MP main lens, a 12 MP ultra-wide angle, and an 8 MP telephoto (30x spatial zoom).
The new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G will go on sale from January 11 for a price starting at $ 699 through the company’s website, telephone operators, and selected stores. It will be available in four color options: olive, lavender, white, and graphite.
