Microsoft will test new experimental features in Windows 11

Functions that testers will have access to are likely never to be shipped.

Microsoft has set out to improve its new Windows 11 operating system for this year. Just a few days ago the company said that for this month of February it will launch a new update with Android applications. In addition, he revealed that he would make improvements to the taskbar.

But it seems that everything is not there, since now Microsoft has offered details about its plans for testing Windows 11 throughout 2022.

According to information from The Verge portal, the company is now considering experimenting with features so that Windows 11 testers get access to features that may never ship.

Microsoft plans for Windows 11

“As part of this ongoing evolution, Insiders will see us lean more heavily on the Dev Channel as a place to incubate new ideas, work on long-term items, and monitor individual feature statuses,” said Amanda Langowski, Windows Insider Program Lead.

“In some cases, these concepts will never arrive, but by experimenting more, we can better refine experiences and deliver solutions on Windows that truly enable our customers to achieve more,” he added.

Experimental Windows 11 Features Langowski said, “We also recognize that some of our more technical Insiders have found that some features are intentionally disabled in the builds we’ve tested.”

In addition, he detailed that “this is by design, and in those cases, we will only communicate the features that we are enabling on purpose for Insiders to test and provide feedback.”

As for the Dev Channel for Windows 11 testing, that will be where the experimental features appear, allowing the Beta Channel to include items that are much closer to what will be shipped to everyone.

In the same way, Microsoft plans to give Windows 11 testers a new window in which it will be possible to switch from the Dev channel to the Beta channel in order to avoid much more experimental features that are on the way.
