This is stated in a statement by the company’s president, Brad Smith, according to Novoye Vremya. The company announced that it was suspending all sales of Microsoft products and services in Russia due to the attack of the Russian army on Ukraine.
“We are horrified, outraged and saddened by the photos and news of the war in Ukraine, and we condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and illegal Russian invasion,” the company said.
In addition, Microsoft is working with the US, European Union, and British governments to stop “many aspects” of its business in Russia. These stops are in line with government sanctions.
“We believe we are most effective in helping Ukraine when we take concrete steps in coordination with the decisions being made by these governments, and we will take additional steps as the situation evolves,” Smith said.
