Cosworth Reveals Sim Racing Version Of IndyCar Steering Wheel

The most exciting aspect of sim racing is replicating the feelings of a genuine race driver. In many games and services, players have access to the same courses, vehicles, and gameplay rules. Home equipment is typically not on par with professional-grade racing equipment, such as steering wheels and pedal boxes. But now, one of the most well-known engineering companies in motorsport is introducing one of its most successful products to virtual racers.

During the Autosport International exhibition in Birmingham, England, Cosworth debuted the CCW MkII Pro Sim steering wheel. Its CCW MkII is a simulator, and a consumer version of it is called the CCW MkII Pro Sim. For prototype sports cars, the real-world wheel is often preferred. Also well-known is the fact that the CCW MkII is the official IndyCar Series steering wheel.

Both the chassis and the button layout of the FIA-approved competition version are replicated in the Pro Sim version. A 4.3-inch screen, shift LED array, ten buttons, four rotary dials, and two thumbwheels, each with 12 positions, are included in both steering wheels. Instrument ideal for simulating the Indy 500.

Cosworth Electronics Managing Director Stefan Balkowiec remarked to Traxion, “This is a historic occasion for Cosworth. We’ve taken our decades of experience in motorsport electronics and applied it to create our first sim racing product. provide gamers the chance to utilize a genuine Cosworth wheel in their favorite sim racing games, with features identical to those found on the CCW MkII used in motorsport.

Neither the retail price nor the estimated release date for the CCW MkII Pro Sim have been announced by Cosworth. Many IndyCar supporters will feel mixed emotions over this announcement. Now that IndyCar has severed its commercial ties with consumer simulation provider iRacing, the series’ spec steering wheel will be made available to sim racers.
