Draymond Green, a powerful voice in the NBA

Always controversial, far from being hated for his personality, he is a liked player and is part of the legacy that the Warriors dynasty is leaving

He is one of the great defensemen and passers of all time. He is a three-time NBA champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and part of a dynasty that has marked the last decade on the court. His name is Draymond Green, he is 32 years old and his impact on the league goes beyond his great talent as a true all-around, as a space-maker, on offense and defense. In 2012, he became the 35th overall pick by the Golden State Warriors. His evolution came over the years and the respect he has earned in the industry also has to do with the person he projects to be off the court. For a voice that he has been building since his mother, Mary Babers-Green, pushed him from a young age in his native Saginaw, Michigan to speak the truth about himself, respectfully, regardless of anyone’s age or height. Now in addition to Lebron James, he has been recognized by colleagues and the media as another of the league’s heard voices. In addition to his podcast The Draymond Green Show, where he has had other league stars as guests, in 2020 he became the first active player in NBA history to sign a multi-year contract with a television station to be an analyst. . He did it with TNT, which justified hiring him out of over 450 players because of his confidence, charisma, and sense of humor.

“That’s the fun. That is the challenge. Like being critical of someone and understanding that you may have to confront them. Or that this player can be your teammate in a month or a year,” Green commented on his new challenge, which he continues to perform for TNT in the United States. “For him, part of what makes him who he is is his voice” also said his coach Steve Kerr, with whom he had several episodes of losing control and screaming on the court at the time. Over time, the Bulls legend understood that it was part of Green’s personality. Today they are the brain and heart of the team. Another aspect that defines him as a person is that in 2012 when he was selected by Golden State, Green decided to move to an apartment in Emeryville, California since San Francisco was too expensive to live like the rest of his teammates.  “I’ve been broke all my life. I’m not going to live that same life, but I’m going to keep the same principles,” he commented on his modest new home. However, for a few years, he already has a mansion in  Los Angeles where he lives with his partner, celebrity Hazel Renee.
