Zelenskyy promises that Ukraine will not make any compromises in Lugansk

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, assured after the fall of Lysychansk, the last Ukrainian stronghold in the eastern region of Lugansk, that his country “does not give up anything” and that it will return to the areas now in the hands of the Russians.

In addition, at least 9 civilians have died and another 25 have been injured in the Russian bombardments of the last few hours on various points in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine.

ZELENSKYY DOES NOT RESIGN

In a video posted on his website, Zelenskyy refers to the withdrawal of his troops from Lysychansk after the Russian siege that has allowed the invading forces to take control of practically the entire eastern fringe of Ukraine.

“Ukraine does not give up anything. And when someone back in Moscow reports something about the Lugansk region, let him remember his reports and promises before February 24, in the first days of this invasion, in the spring and now,” Zelenskyy said. in reference to the time that the Russians have taken to take over the region, almost four months.

“That they really evaluate what they got during this time and how much they paid for it. Because – he added – their current reports will turn to dust just like the previous ones.”

The Ukrainian army is “gradually advancing in the Kharkiv region, in the Kherson region (partially taken by the Russians) and in the sea: Zmiinyi (islands) is a good example of this. A day will come when we will say the same of Donbas,” stressed the president.

DEAD IN DONETSK

The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said in a publication on the Telegram platform that two children were among those killed by these bombings.

“The Russians killed nine civilians in the Donetsk region: six in Sloviansk, one in Avdiivka, one in Bakhmut, and one in Zaitseve. Among those killed were two children: one in Sloviansk and one in Zaitseve. Another 25 people were injured,” reads the message.

According to Kyrylenko, “it is currently impossible to determine the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha”, both cities occupied by the Russians and which are also part of that region.

Russian troops also launched a massive attack on the city of Sloviansk, one of the main enclaves of Donetsk, on Sunday, where up to 15 fires broke out in various parts of the city, according to the sources.
