Ukraine: nearly 12,000 Russian soldiers have died in combat

The Ukrainian Army reported the considerable number of casualties in the Russian militia. In addition, it revealed how many weapons, transport and fuel they were able to destroy.

This Tuesday, March 8, the Ukrainian Army has reported the number of casualties that the Russian militia has had since the invasion began on February 24. According to their statement, nearly 12,000 Russian soldiers have died during the fighting that has taken place due to the invasion that Vladimir Putin authorized from the Kremlin.

The attack on Ukrainian territory has left various infrastructures damaged, dozens dead and thousands displaced. In the case of the local resistance, the Army General Staff explained that they also caused a considerable detriment against their enemy, who would have seen their siege slow down due to the considerable number of lost elements and weapons.

In his report, he not only stated that the Russian death toll approaches 12,000 but also specified that they destroyed 303 tanks, 27 anti-aircraft systems, 48 planes, 80 helicopters and 474 vehicles. They also annihilated 120 artillery systems, three ships, 60 fuel tanks and seven drones.

“The data is being updated. The calculations are complicated due to the high intensity of the fighting,” said the Army General Staff.

Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced that he would no longer send reservists or conscripts to fight Ukraine. In addition, he assured that this war has been started with “professionals” who meet “established objectives”.

“I want to stress that conscripts do not and will not participate in combat. There will also be no further recruitment of reservists,” Putin said in a television speech on the occasion of the March 8 holiday.

What are the conditions of Vladimir Putin to stop the attack on Ukraine?

Three rounds of negotiations have already been organized between the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian delegation, but no consensus has been reached. According to a BBC journalist, President Vladimir Putin demands three conditions to put an end to the attack.

  • Ukraine must change its constitution to ensure that it will not join blocs like the European Union or NATO.
  • Ukraine must recognize that Crimea is part of Russia.
  • Ukraine must recognize that the breakaway regions of Donbas are part of Russia.
