The Investing.com UK 100 index finished the day at a fresh three-year high, having gained 0.25 percent in London.
Among the top gainers on the Investing.com UK 100 today was Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON:0593xq), which gained 5.25%, or 61.50 points, to close at 1,234.00. Both EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) and Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) were on the rise at the close of trading, with EZJ adding 4.49 points, or 16.70 total, to close at 388.90 and ANTO gaining 4.32 points, or 71.50 total, to close at 1,726.50.

Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was one of the worst decliners, down 33.20 points, or 3.44%, to 931.80 as of the close of trading on Thursday. Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) down 2.26%, or 30.00 points, to 1,295.00, while BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) fell 2.64%, or 22.60 points, to $835.20.
On the London Stock Exchange, higher-priced stocks led lower-priced ones by 1112 to 717, with 464 ending the day unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery rose 0.26%, or $4.85, to $1,874.55 per troy ounce on the commodities market. Meanwhile, the price of a barrel of crude oil for February delivery increased by 1.94%, or $1.43, to $75.20, and the price of a barrel of Brent oil for March delivery increased by 1.65%, or $1.30, to $79.87.
With the US dollar down 0.85%, the British pound rose to a high of 1.22, while the Euro remained constant against the Pound at 0.88.
There was a decline of 0.82 percent for the US Dollar Index Futures, which dropped to 102.80.
