Kangana Ranaut alleged and tweeted about Mamata Banerjee for the violence that outbreaks in West Bengal after the election results. In a series of tweets, Kangana has criticized and made some offensive comments on Mamata Banerjee, after which her account got suspended for violating the rules of the micro-blogging site.
In her tweets, she demanded president’s rule be imposed in West Bengal, where news of violence was reported after Mamata Banerjee led the Trinamool Congress (TMC) got a clear win in the assembly election results on 2nd May. She said no such violence could be seen in Assam and Puducherry after the voting results where BJP won, but many murders and #Benaglisburning after TMC won in West Bengal. She also commented about Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru in the following tweet.
After this incident, her account got suspended. She said she would be using other platforms to raise her voice, including her art in the form of cinema.
In context to this, a spokesperson of Twitter said this action had been taken into account to prevent some offline harm that can occur after this. To this, he added, “such decisions have been made after the actress violated the rules and made some abusive & hateful comments with her tweet.
