Thiago Braz’s wife sends message for golden chance: Whole country jumps with you

Athlete from Marília (SP) Thiago Braz, current Olympic pole vault champion, disputes the final of the competition this Tuesday (3), at 7:20 am (Brasilia time), at the Tokyo Olympics.

On the eve of the decision, he received messages of support from his wife, also Ana Paula de Oliveira, who has been married since 2014.

“Love, you are not alone. You jump and an entire nation jumps with you. You have all my heart and you will get anything you want. Have fun, be happy and I love you so much. Go with God and come back with the gold,” he said.

Maria do Carmo, the athlete’s grandmother, also sent a message: “My grandson, go all out, bring your grandmother the gold, because the grandmother likes gold. For me you’ll be the best, the champion.”

Without contact with his mother since early childhood, Thiago Braz was raised by his grandparents, whom he calls his parents. Grandfather Orlando died last year.

Thiago Braz holds the Olympic record in the pole vault obtained precisely in the final of the Rio Games, in 2016, when he passed over the slat at a height of 6.03m.
