The Benito Juárez mayor’s office explained that there is no report of any person trapped at the scene of the events

The Benito Juárez mayor‘s office reported that, after the collapse of part of the roof of a supermarket,  located on Av. Revolución y Patriotismo, Colonia Mixcoac, due to heavy rains and hail, 200 people were evacuated and one more had to be transferred to the Red Cross for a broken clavicle .

He explained that there is no report of any person trapped and that the Urban Services team of Blinder BJ and Civil Protection are attending, not only in this area but also visited several points in the mayor’s office “because this intermittent hail did cause puddles and some streets with greater complications”.

He stressed that the emergency bodies of the demarcation continue to work in the area, in coordination with the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) of the CDMX, for which the neighbors are urged to take precautions and avoid circulation in the periphery.

In the face of heavy rains and intense hailstorms, the Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Office, through the Directorate of Civil Protection and High-Risk Areas, reported that part of the roof of the Santa María Nonoalco Market and the roofs of seven more houses were demolished. They also present floods in the area of Antigua Vía La Venta.
