Stylist Gosha Rubchinskiy likes football. Russia is home to the World Cup. Adidas sponsors the Russian team and the World Cup. Gosha and Adidas are partners. At this moment, everything converges naturally to a unique launch that brings together all these elements: Gosha, Russia, Adidas, football. The new collaborative collection between the designer and the sports giant was recently launched especially for the Cup and obviously revolves around football.

Gosha has collaborated with Adidas since January 2017 and his lines were a mix of sportswear with a clubbing feeling of the 90’s. But in this collection he bets on the classic aesthetics of football and also looks at the vintage Russian aesthetic.

The line has three key pieces: the soccer jersey, a football boot and a ball. Among the highlights is a Predator boot in the colors of the Russian flag and a series with eleven shirts ($ 135 each), each related to a Russian city that receives a game of the Cup. The player’s number reflects the geographical location of the place. And it is worth mentioning also the sweaters, very pretty. There are 11 in all, each symbolizing a host city. “Adidas wants to be present not only as a sponsor, but culturally as well. And they understand that my designs are not just about collections, they always talk about Russian culture, “says the designer to the international press.

Gosha will launch in the second half a book with his look on the World Cup. “The idea is to go to the 11 host cities and shoot as I see the event.” Gosha will shoot in the field with the other accredited photographers, as well as take pictures of football fans and city landmarks.

He had already produced cultural and tourist guides of the cities where he paraded with his trilogy: Kaliningrad (AW17), St. Petersburg (SS18) and Ekaterinburg (AW18).

The collection is already on sale at select stores of Adidas, Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market.
