Roberto Canepa, the father of 18-year-old Camilla of the AstraZeneca case, died after Covid vaccine

The 53-year-old man fell ill late Friday afternoon in Zoagli, where he was walking with some friends

Surveyor Roberto Canepa, father of Camilla the 18-year-old who died on 6 June last year after the administration of a dose of Astrazeneca anti-covid vaccine, died, struck down by a sudden illness. The 53-year-old man felt ill late Friday afternoon in Zoagli, in the Genoese area, where he was walking with some friends. The illness, apparently a heart attack, was lightning-fast: Canepa collapsed and, despite immediate help, died

The news spread quickly in Sestri Levante where Canepa ran a real estate agency. It is yet another close mourning that the Canepa family undergoes. A month after the death of Camilla, who died of a cerebral haemorrhage, the girl’s grandfather, Carlo Canepa, had died. Roberto Canepa leaves his wife and Beatrice the elder sister of Camilla.

A tragedy that adds to the tragedy experienced by a Ligurian family during Covid. Roberto Canepa, the father of Camilla, the 18-year-old girl from Sestri Levante who entered a coma in June 2021 after receiving a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and then crushed by a thrombosis, died. The 53-year-old man was taken ill while he was with friends on the steps of the Canevaro castle, in Zoagli, where the family had recently moved. Il Secolo XIX and other local sources report it. Despite the intervention of the health workers, for Camilla’s father, there was nothing to do.

The man would have been the victim of illness yesterday afternoon and despite the help provided by the friends with whom she found herself and the medical staff of 118, it could not be saved. It would have happened right near the Zoagli house where the couple had moved after the disappearance of their daughter: Roberto Canepa was with friends when he felt ill. Therefore, the tragedies do not seem to end for this family, which now has to face new mourning, given that just one month after Camilla’s death, her grandfather also died for the pain of the loss of her young granddaughter.

Camilla Canepa died in June 2021 at the San Martino hospital in Genoa after being vaccinated with AstraZeneca on an open day. The girl “had no previous pathology and had not taken any drugs”; death from thrombosis “is reasonable to be referred to an adverse effect from the administration of the anti-Covid vaccine”: this is what the coroner Luca Tajana and the haematologist Franco Piovella had written in the report filed with the prosecutor to the prosecutors investigating the case. The girl looked healthy and the medical history form was filled out correctly. as well as the administration of the vaccine. Camilla had been vaccinated on May 25th and she felt ill on June 3rd: she had been taken to the Lavagna hospital where she had found thrombocytopenia and photosensitivity. But she had been discharged, after a tac without contrast, and she had returned to the same hospital on the 5th in desperate conditions due to a cavernous sinus thrombosis. She was transferred to the San Martino Polyclinic in Genoa, she had been operated on the head, and died on 10 June 2021.

The parents, who had always maintained that their daughter had no pathologies and did not take drugs, had authorized the removal of the organs. The family’s lawyers had asked to investigate the administration of the vaccine and the therapies provided. «The affair deserves further investigation – underlined the lawyer Angelo Paone who assists the family – it has finally been clarified that the girl had no pathologies and did not take medicines. We reserve any further information with our consultant. However, we can observe from now on that in reality the problem of contraindications on that age group had already been highlighted in report number 17 of the scientific technical committee which said that that vaccine was not recommended for people under 60 years old. Also as regards the hospitalization in Lavagna it must be said that Camilla was discharged on 3 June with the platelets continuing to descend ».
