More than 40 Ukrainian soldiers killed in attacks

Most casualties occurred during bombing raids on airfields and military bases; they do not rule out civilian casualties

More than forty Ukrainian soldiers died today in the attacks carried out by the Russian Army against airfields and military bases on the territory of this country, according to the Ukrainian Presidency.

“I know that now there are more than 40 dead and several dozen wounded,” Presidential adviser Alexei Arestovich told a news conference , admitting that most of the casualties occurred during this morning’s aerial bombing.

Arestovich, who underlined that, despite everything, Russia has not managed to undermine the defensive potential of the Armed Forces, addressed the Ukrainians to give blood for soldiers fighting on the front lines.

The Ukrainian Army denounced that Russia not only attacked military infrastructure, but also hammered towns, where civilians were killed .

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced today the breaking of diplomatic relations with Russia after the aggression ordered by the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin.

In addition, he assured that the Government is already distributing weapons “among all those who want it” to defend the national territory from the Russian invader.

“The future of the Ukrainian people depends on each citizen,” he said.

Zelensky also stressed that the Ukrainian Army is engaged in “heavy fighting” throughout the national geography from “Donbas to other regions of the east, north and south.”

“The enemy has suffered serious losses and will suffer even more. They have come to our land,” he said.

Earlier, the president ordered his army to inflict “the greatest possible losses on the invader” after Russian attacks on several Ukrainian regions.

“The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces ordered to inflict the greatest possible losses on the invader,” the Army said in a statement.
