No relief to Rahul Gandhi even after long interrogation, ED summoned again

Even after the fourth day’s interrogation, Rahul Gandhi has not gotten any relief. The ED called him to the office for questioning again on Tuesday. Today he reached the ED office at 11.30 am.

After three consecutive days of interrogation last week in the National Herald case, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi was again questioned by the ED on Monday. Sources said that he has been asked to join the interrogation again on Tuesday.

Rahul Gandhi had reached the ED headquarters located on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in central Delhi at around 11.05 am with “Z+” category security of CRPF personnel. A day before it was Rahul Gandhi’s 52nd birthday. On the other hand, Sonia Gandhi has been discharged from the hospital today.

Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed in large numbers around the office of the central probe agency and prohibitory orders under section 144 are in force. Rahul Gandhi came out of the ED office for lunch at around 3.30 pm and reached the ED office again after about an hour.

Rahul Gandhi, 52, was questioned by ED officials for over 30 hours last week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for three consecutive days during which his statements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) were recorded.

Due to the ill health of their mother Sonia Gandhi, she was to appear before the investigating agency again on Friday, but the former Congress president wrote a letter to the investigating officer of the ED due to the ill health of her mother Sonia Gandhi. Was requested for exemption from the inquiry scheduled for Friday (June 17). The ED had accepted his request and asked him to appear on June 20.
