Through a tweet sent today, the new owner of Twitter , Elon Musk, gave a preview of what will be the new policy of the platform, with which he seeks to move away from the one promoted by the previous administration.
Announcing Twitter’s new policy, Musk said that “Twitter’s new policy is free speech , but not free reach.”
He also reported that Twitter will demonetize and will not promote tweets containing hate speech or any other “negative” content .
“Twitter’s new policy is free speech, but not free reach. Negative /hate tweets will be maximally removed and demonetized, so there will be no ads or other revenue for Twitter,” the billionaire wrote.
“You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically search for it, which is no different than the rest of the internet,” the Tesla owner added.
He also announced that Twitter plans to restore several controversial accounts that had been previously banned or suspended, but added that the company has yet to make a decision on former President Donald Trump ‘s account .
Minutes later, he said that the decision regarding Trump could be decided by Vox Populi and published a poll in which Twitter users could vote to decide whether to reinstate the former president’s account.
