The rise in coronavirus cases continues in Argentina: they rose 28% in the last week

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Sunday that 43,487 new infections of coronavirus in the country in the last seven days, which represents a 27.94 percent increase over the previous report, in addition to 49 deaths from the pandemic in the same period.

On May 22, 33,989 positive cases had been reported in the previous week, in addition to 47 deaths. In the last month, the number of weekly cases increased by more than 284 percent.

As a positive fact, the latest record marks a slowdown in the growth of infections, which in the previous week had marked a 92 percent increase compared to the previous one.

With the latest reported data, there were 9,178,795 infections and 128,825 deaths from coronavirus since the start of the outbreak in Argentina, in March 2020.

On the other hand, the health portfolio led by Minister Carla Vizzotti reported that the number of patients with Covid-19 hospitalized in intensive care amounted to 323, while last week there were 300, and the occupation of service beds for all pathologies in public and private health centers throughout the country suffered a slight rebound of one unit to rise to 42 percent.
