What’s wrong with Justin Bieber? He was diagnosed with a very rare disease and his health is concerned

The singer posted a video on social media and stunned his fans when he showed the symptoms of an unusual syndrome.

Through a video posted on his Instagram account, the 28-year-old singer recounted the difficult time he had to go through after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. In fact, in the images, you can see how the pop artist had the right side of his face motionless while he spoke. So much so, that he himself showed how he could neither smile nor blink on the affected side.

“This is pretty serious, as you can see,” he told his followers during the video. However, Bieber explained that he has already begun treatment to alleviate the symptoms of the rare disorder that afflicts him, which includes a series of facial exercises to help rebuild the nerves and muscles of the face.

The news comes at a time when the Canadian had had to cancel the next shows of his “Justice World Tour”, which caused public discomfort. Given this, his testimony was more visual than anything else, although he showed that he is not physically prepared to carry them out. “I wish this didn’t happen, but my body is asking me to slow down,” he added.

As part of his world tour, the singer has scheduled two concerts in our country for September 10 and 11 at the Estadio Único de La Plata. It will be Bieber’s second visit to Argentina and, although tickets are already on sale, it is still uncertain if this inconvenience will change any of the dates.

What is Ramsay Hunt syndrome?

This rare disease occurs when the varicella-zoster virus infects a facial nerve in the head, usually near one of the ears. In addition to the painful rash caused by the virus, the syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear.

When suffering from this disease, it is recommended to start treatment with some medications 72 hours after the appearance of the first symptoms. In addition, it is estimated that facial paralysis takes at least 2 weeks to begin to cease. In this sense, exercises to regain mobility are also helpful.

The syndrome can occur in anyone who has had chickenpox and contracting it is more common in older adults, usually in their 60s. Although rare, it can also attack children.
