In addition to the intense chemistry and love that they radiate, Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian are united by other qualities that the Blink-182 drummer has revealed in his latest interview with Billboard, published a few days after they celebrated their love with a wedding in Las Vegas.
Among many details about his music career, Barker revealed to the publication that Kourtney has inspired him in many ways to overcome his fears: “We are very similar,” said Barker. “We don’t give up, and I need someone like that in my life.”
The musician was referring to his refusal to fly for 13 years after surviving a deadly plane crash in 2008 that left much of his body covered in third-degree burns.
Her willingness to get back on a plane finally changed last summer, thanks in no small part to Kardashian. When the couple flew to Cabo, Barker posted a photo of them embracing in front of the plane with the caption: “With you everything is possible.”
The couple, who got engaged in October, were married in Sin City early Monday after the Grammy Awards, in an impromptu chapel wedding officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator. Although the two did not have a marriage license, the businesswoman assured that they were prepared to officially say “yes, I do”.
“It’s not called ‘fake marriage’!” he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “There was no chance of getting a marriage license at that hour… We asked five times. ‘What do we have to do to make this happen?’ It was 2 in the morning and they told us: ‘It opens at 8′”.
After Kimmel tried to confirm that she “really” wanted to get married, but couldn’t, the wellness guru replied, “We did it anyway. We did it from the heart.”
