During the judicial process that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard face due to a defamation complaint, a witness in the case confirmed that the actress was about to be eliminated from the scenes she had recorded for the sequel to ‘Aquaman’, as a result of the legal battle she has with her ex-husband.
According to Kathryn Arnold, former producer, and current entertainment industry consultant, Amber Heard’s role in the movie of the popular DC Comics superhero was going to represent an important moment for her career, however, thanks to Jason Momoa, the studio did not remove his involvement from the footage.
In his testimony, he mentioned that both the production companies and the Hollywood studios avoid celebrities who get into trouble or who have a public opinion against them since this could affect their box office income, as happened with the histrion 58-year-old who was fired from the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ saga.
However, both Jason Momoa and the director of the film, James Wan, prevented the actress from being fired from the project, because according to Kathryn Arnold herself, both were inflexible to negotiate with Warner Bros., and thus force the studio to continue with Amber Heard in the cast.
According to the witness, Mera was going to have a “strong romantic arc throughout the movie and some great action sequences” before her involvement was cut and her role “radically reduced”.
During the past week, Jessica Kovacevic, agent of Amber Heard, revealed in the trial that she had been told about a possible cancellation of her client’s participation due to the “lack of chemistry” with the protagonist but she believed it was related to the bad reputation it has acquired in recent weeks.
