They postpone “Mission Impossible 7 and 8”: Know their new release dates

The films starring Tom Cruise, “Mission Impossible 7 and 8”, which are part of the “Mission Impossible” franchise, again delay their release date until 2023 and 2024, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Another year will pass for us to see the new “Mission Impossible 7” movie since it delays its release date until 2023, which will be when we will see the seventh installment on theater screens.

This delay represents the fourth time that a film starring Tom Cruise has delayed its release.

Paramount Pictures and Skydance announced on Friday that the premiere of “Mission Impossible 7” will be pushed back from September 20 to July 14, 2023. Its sequel, “Mission: Impossible 8,” meanwhile, which was previously scheduled for July 2023, will now premiere on June 28, 2024.

This has been one of the biggest setbacks that production has manifested, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The filming of “Mission: Impossible 7” was suspended in early 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shortly after, filming resumed in the summer (boreal) of 2020; and, in September 2021, filming concluded.

Paramount and Skydance attributed the postponements to delays related to the pandemic.

After careful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for ‘Mission: Impossible 7 and 8’ in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic,” the companies said in a joint statement.

CHRISTOPHER MCQUARRIE RETURNS TO DIRECT THE SEVENTH FILM.

“Mission: Impossible 7” will be directed by “Fallout” filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, who is returning to direct the seventh and eighth installments in the franchise. The extensive cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Basset, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, and Charles Parnell.

In August of this year, Cruise and McQuarrie showed footage from the seventh installment of Mission Impossible to theater owners at CinemaCom, including Cruise’s latest death-defying stunt for the film.

The only thing that scares me more is what we have planned for Mission 8,” McQuarrie said in a video.
