You could be green with envy over Taika Waititi’s emerald-cut diamond engagement ring given to Rita Ora. On Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the “Your Song” singer showed off the engagement ring she received from her filmmaker spouse, whom she supposedly wed in London last August.
Ora joked, “He did good,” as she displayed her massive emerald set in a sparkling pavé halo and delicate diamond wedding band. You know what you want, and I felt like I truly knew I wanted to be with this guy, and I just wanted it to feel very perfect, she said. To this end, it’s possible that I took him ring shopping and gave him specific instructions.
Maxwell Stone, a partner of Steven Stone Jewelers in the United Kingdom, estimates that Ora’s bauble may fetch $500,000 or more. The ring’s centerpiece is a 10-carat emerald-cut Columbian green emerald in a halo setting, Stone tells Page Six Style.
Because of their stunningly vivid hues and the light that plays off of them, Colombian emeralds often fetch the highest prices in the world. Because of their historical association with good fortune, emeralds are frequently used in engagement rings that aim to convey a message of symbolism.
As the CEO of The Diamond Pro, Mike Fried, thinks that the “striking and distinctive” center stone “seems to be at least 8 to 10 carats,” putting the ring’s value at over $400,000.
According to Fried of Page Six Style, “the careful attention to detail and unique elements represent the bond and future this couple has together.”
This January, the 32-year-old “I Will Never Let You Down” singer announced her marriage to the 47-year-old Waititi.
Ora declared on the UK show “Heart Breakfast” that she was no longer available for dating, saying that the “secret” ceremony she and her new husband had “was absolutely perfectly, exactly how I wanted it.”
The performer went on, “It was nice and perfect… I’m sorry, but you won’t find it riveting. At some point in the future, we intend to host a major celebration.
