Selena Gomez admitted that her painful breakup with Justin Bieber made her grow

Selena Gomez rose to fame when she was just a child. The American artist has spent her entire life in front of the spotlight, however, the greatest media harassment she suffered from her came when she was just a teenager, after her first breakup with the Canadian artist Justin Bieber.

Both artists maintained an intermittent sentimental relationship, with highly publicized breakups and reconciliations that went around the world, between 2009 and 2018.

Being two of the biggest teenage artists in the world, their romantic relationship, with all that it entailed, was followed by millions of people. A relationship in which Selena Gomez was the one who got the worst part, having suffered the most painful heartbreak of her life with the artist.

In one of her last interviews, Selena Gomez said that ending her relationship with Justin Bieber allowed her to find “a path of introspection.” A hard road, but one that helped her get to know herself:  “I was going through a complicated breakup. And so I was left wondering about my career and thinking about where to direct it and what was going to happen next. I felt like I had very different emotions from each other.”

“And on top of that, I had health problems: lupus and that in the kidneys. It was a really difficult stage”, confessed Selena Gómez in  The Hollywood Reporter about what she felt after her stormy breakup with the Canadian artist.

Even so, he assures that such a painful breakup taught him many things, and made him grow: ” It made me develop a character where I do not tolerate any nonsense or disrespect in any way. ” A character that, as the artist admitted in the interview with the American media, makes her feel very “proud”.
