Rebel Wilson talks about her weight loss after criticism and gives lessons on self love
Rebel Wilson has shocked her fans and the entertainment world with her great transformation by losing at least 35 kilos.
Recognized for her skills as a comedic actress, she has had to face a lot of criticism and assumptions about the media coverage of her weight, as there are those who speculate about her diet history.
However, she has shown that she is at her best and in the middle of the BAFTA 2022 presentation, she decided to broach the subject.
The celebrity recalled her last appearance at the award ceremony in 2020 where she still wore a few extra kilos.
“I may look a little different than the last time you saw me here. This was me two years ago and since then I have made a huge transformation,” Rebel Wilson said as an image of her appeared on the screens across the stage.
Rebel decided to get ahead of the media and talk about her weight loss using her own unique sense of humour.
“Everyone asks me: ‘why have you lost weight?’ Well, it’s clear that it was to get the attention of Robert Pattinson… It’s a joke! Guys, seriously, I haven’t lost weight just for a guy. Like! I did it to get more acting roles,” she joked.
Giving the note, My best friend’s wedding and Better single, are some of the most prestigious comedies in which the celebrity has acted, and -unfortunately- always with the same role. Her weight was one of the reasons why the actress was pigeonholed in the same characters, but now everything has changed.
This would be his first performance after losing weight. Although it was uncomfortable for some of those present that she brought up the subject, it was important for her to broach it.
“Everyone asks me: ‘why have you lost weight?’ Well, it’s clear that it was to get the attention of Robert Pattinson… It’s a joke! Guys, seriously, I haven’t lost weight just for a guy. Like! I did it to get more acting roles,” she joked.
During an interview for the Hollywood Reporter, Rebel herself confessed that different roles have come her way since she lost weight.
“I found that with the British drama The Almond and the Seahorse, – I’m not sure I would have been hired for that when I was a bigger girl because you get stereotyped a little more when you’re older – it has definitely diversified my actions,” she said.
