Preview Information for the PC Version of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Revealed; Game Supports High Dynamic Range, Adaptive Sync, and Ultrawide Displays, and More

Team Ninja and Koei Temco, the studios responsible for Nioh and Bloodborne, are hard at work on their next open-world role-playing game, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. On March 3, 2023, the game will launch for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

The 14th-century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong serves as the inspiration for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The action of the game takes place in China in the year 184 A.D., and players have the freedom to build and modify their own characters and strategies.

PC graphics options for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

TheMakoReactor has published an article outlining what players may anticipate from the PC port of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Players should be aware that the information they are reading comes from a pre-release build of the game and not the final edition.

One of the first things we learned was that both 30 and 60 frames per second would be supported in 4K resolution, with ultrawide being an option as well. The preview build of the game did not have DLSS capabilities enabled for players, but they will be available in the final release.

More advanced visual options, such as “HDR, V-sync, texture and shadow quality, shadow render distance, ambient occlusion, screen space reflection, subsurface scattering, model LOD, volumetric fog resolution, and volumetric cloud quality,” will also be available in the game.

Controller and Steam Deck integration for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

The PC port will also include DualSense haptics support and controller prompts for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There will be five different control schemes for the player to choose from, and the controller’s vibrations can be adjusted to suit individual preferences.

The game is still in development, so the tester could only have a glimpse of it in its rudimentary Steam Deck form. It had a frame rate of 30fps and a resolution of 1080p. The stuttering frame rates experienced by the tester persisted. The frame rate of the game suffered unless the render resolution was decreased.

The title’s photo mode characteristics were also detailed for us. Before anything else, we can confirm that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty features a photo mode. Light number, Light On/Off, Adjust Position, Light Brightness, and RGB options are now the only ones shown when in photo mode. As the game’s release date draws closer, we’ll hear more about Photo Mode’s capabilities.
