El Marginal 4: Juan Minujín and Martina Gusmán advanced the new season

The protagonists of the series chatted with TN Show about the challenges they faced to make the fourth installment that premieres tomorrow on Netflix.

The first season of El Marginal left the public asking for more . The story of Pastor ( Juan Minujín ) was acclaimed by critics and by the audience, crudely showing the situation inside the prisons.

With a captivating plot, this series directed by Luis Ortega plunged us into the world of the San Onofre prison. Alliances, betrayals, violence, corruption and many deaths took place in this prison drama released in 2016.

After the first season came two more that worked as a prequel. In them we were able to delve a little deeper into the stories behind the characters in the prison, learn about the background of the first installment.

Now, Ortega takes us back in the footsteps of Pastor, who had managed to escape in the final episode of season 1. After escaping from the police for a while, they end up finding him and taking him to a new prison: Puente Viejo . In this way we are going to see how his destiny will coincide again with that of Mario Borges (Claudio Rissi) and Diosito (Nicolás Furtado).

The Borges brothers will not be the only ones to participate in this reunion. César (Abel Ayala), who leads the group that represents the Sub21 , will also join . Outside the prison, Sergio Antín (Gerardo Romano) will seek to take over the power of the prison, confronting the current director, while Pastor’s girlfriend, Emma Molinari ( Martina Gusmán ), will work to help him escape.

Juan Minujín and Martina Gusmán: chemistry on screen and in real life

Shortly after the premiere of the fourth season of El Marginal , We Spoke with Juan Minujín and Martina Gusmán about what it was like to resume the story that had begun in 2016. Excited by the premiere, the actors told what some of the challenges they had to face confront to bring their characters back to life.

“ From the professional point of view, it is a bomb . It was a super powerful season from the narrative, with a very high level of production. Personally, for me it is a reunion with a character that I always loved very much and with great companions. Specifically, the link with Emma seemed to me to be something to keep telling about. It was a pleasure ”, assured Minujín.

When asked about how they had worked on the relationship between Emma and Pastor, Martina said that previous meetings and rehearsals had been necessary: “ We are both very intense (laughs). There was a chemistry from the first moment we met. Juan is an actor that I adore, he seems super talented, creative, a good partner. It was very cute. There was previous work to think about how to do it and it accompanied the magic that is generated on the set, because there is a very beautiful synergy between the characters ”.

The relationship with Martina always flowed with a lot of trust and freedom ,” Minujín added. For him, the most challenging scenes are not the sex ones or those that include explicit violence, but rather those that build the character: “The most difficult are those where there is an emotional twist. “

And there are many of those dramatic scenes that take the protagonist to unsuspected limits. In the fourth installment of El Marginal we meet an exhausted Pastor who must return to jail after having been on the run. He is a different man from the first one who will have to face his worst fears again .

“They are characters that take you to a place of great vulnerability and there is a lot of exposure of emotionality. They are all super intense. The ones that have a twist are more complex to build,” commented the actress, agreeing with her partner.

El Marginal 4: everything you need to know about the fourth season

“In principle, something very strong is entering the new prison, with a director who is completely different from Antín. That already sets something different. The Borges arrive and have no power and one will be able to see how they acquire it. In this season many things are revealed that are going to keep the public tied , ”said Minujín.

For his part, Gusmán added that, added to the renewed plot, this installment will give an end to questions that were left open in the past: “In addition to what is new, it is good to close the story.”
