must watch anime film from the creators of Attack on Titan
The anime will have a new title in its extensive catalog on Netflix: it is the movie “Bubbles”, the first film from WIT Studios, responsible for the first three seasons of the successful “Shingeki no Kyojin” (“Attack on Titan”).
The film has big names behind its production: for example, the script is in charge of Gen Urobuchi, the co-creator of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The character designs come from Takeshi Obata, who was part of the legendary Death Note, while the soundtrack comes from Hiroyuki Sawano, who was in Attack on Titan.
According to the Netflix synopsis, Bubbles brings the story of a girl and a boy who are attracted to each other in a city of Tokyo where gravity does not exert its force.
“The story takes place in Tokyo, after bubbles rained down on Earth, nullifying gravity. Isolated from the outside world, Tokyo has become a battleground for a group of young people who lost their families and compete in parkour teams by jumping from one building to another.
And continues: “Hibiki, famous for his reckless style, is careless in a movement and rushes into a sea that is also floating. But Uta, a girl with mysterious powers, saves his life. And then, there is a singular sound that only the two of them can hear. Why did Uta appear before Hibiki? The encounter gives rise to a revelation that will change the world.”
Bubbles will premiere worldwide on the Netflix platform on April 28.
