‘Justice for Johnny Depp’: they launch a petition to return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’

Despite the fact that it was launched two years ago, the petition barely gained relevance and already has almost 500,000 signatures.

Amid the ongoing trial regarding the defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, and the counterclaim with which she answered, a matter resurfaced involving one of the most iconic characters that have made the movie actor: Jack Sparrow, for the Pirates of the Caribbean saga.

The change.org page has a petition on their page called ‘ Justice for Johnny Depp, started by a user named Kimberly Giles and addressed to The Walt Disney Company, Alan N. Braverman (Vice President of Disney), Robert Iger (CEO of Disney), and Christine McCarthy (Disney CFO).

‘Justice for Jhonny Depp’: the change.org petition

In it, Giles asks the company to return Johnny Depp to the Pirates of the Caribbean saga, from which he was fired after it became known that he was accused of domestic violence by Amber Heard thanks to an article written by the actress in 2018.

The user of the platform argues that the ex-wife of the actor who plays Jack Sparrow “ruined the life and career of Johnny Depp”, so the company should reconsider integrating him back into the cast of the tape.

“This man NEVER disappoints when he makes a movie, so why keep stopping him from making Pirates of the Caribbean? That movie is nothing without him! He signs this petition to help Johnny Depp get back to what he enjoys and does best,” the petition reads.

A message with dedication for Disney

Kimberly also mentions that the actor ” deserves his life to return to the way it was before Amber Heard appeared ” since he considers him a great actor, and the accusations made against him are categorically false, so he wants justice, and directs a special message to the mouse company.

Walt Disney Company: Johnny Depp deserves to continue his role as Sparrow. I think deleting it was a mistake on your part, but pretty stupid if you ask me. […] All the other producers/directors/writers believe in him and his innocence, why don’t all of you?” it reads.

Please change your mind and don’t release that movie without Johnny Depp. Yes, you may be saving money without him, but no one in this world cares about that movie if they don’t have him. Reconsider your decision!!”, concluded the user.

Although this request began two years ago, it has become more relevant thanks to the trial that Depp faces against Amber Heard. So far, this petition has more than 483 thousand signatures (and counting).
