The first trailer for Jennifer Lawrence‘s bawdy comedy “No Hard Feelings,” in which she plays a lady who responds to two helicopter parents’ Craigslist post to sleep with their sheltered 19-year-old son before he goes to college, has been published by Sony.
Lawrence’s character Maddie approaches the embarrassed Percy at a dog adoption center, asking “Mind if I touch your wiener?” before revealing he’s holding a Dachshund wiener dog. On the verge of losing her childhood home, Maddie makes one last desperate attempt to satisfy her parents’ dubious request and sleep with Percy.
She skinny dips, serves him Long Island ice tea, then kidnaps him in a van before pepper spraying him in the face in one hilarious sequence.
Other cast members include Andrew Barth Feldman as Percy, Matthew Broderick as his father, Laura Benanti as his mother, Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, Kyle Mooney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Scott MacArthur, and others.
Lawrence, Alex Saks, Naomi Odenkirk, Marc Provissiero, Justine Ciarrocchi, and executive producers John Phillips and Kerry Orent are among the producers.
“No Hard Feelings” is directed by Gene Stupnitsky from a script he co-wrote with John Phillips. Previously, Stupnitsky directed the similarly bawdy 2019 comedy “Good Boys,” a coming-of-age picture starring Jacob Tremblay, and co-wrote “Bad Teacher” in 2011 and “Year One” in 2009.
Lawrence has had a recent renaissance, having been in last year’s Apple TV+ drama “Causeway,” as well as Netflix‘s end-of-the-world comedy “Don’t Look Up” in 2021.
“No Hard Feelings” will be released in theaters on June 23. The R-rated trailer is included below.
