George Clooney turned down $ 35 million for making a commercial

In recent days, George Clooney gave an interview for the newspaper “The Guardian”, to whom he revealed that at some point in his career he refused to do a commercial for which he was offered 35 million dollars.

The anecdote came to light after the actor was asked whether at this point in his life he already had enough money, to which he did not hesitate to answer yes.

Clooney stated that “I was offered $ 35 million for a day’s work for an airline commercial, but I discussed it with Amal (his wife) and we decided it wasn’t worth it.”

Regarding his decision, the director commented the following: “The proposal was associated with a country that, although it is an ally, is sometimes questionable. So I thought: ‘If it takes a minute of sleep, it’s not worth it’.

In addition, the protagonist of “ Ocean’s Eleven ” spoke about his work rate, revealing that unlike in other years, it is currently lower, due to his two small 4-year-old children, Ella and Alexander.

“My wife and I had this conversation about work when I turned 60 in May. We can still ‘move’ well and we both love what we do. However, we have to make sure we don’t do something stupid and live our lives,” said the producer.

In past interviews, the screenwriter has also commented on how his life changed with fatherhood, which of course is reflected in the work aspect.

George stated that “We both worked a lot. We just don’t do a job because we have to. We make sure to spend less time behind a computer or traveling excessively. That’s it. I feel healthy and in good shape. Sixty is just a number and you can still beat the devil a little bit, at 80 you can’t anymore. So twenty years go by in an instant and much faster, so I’m making the most of my life now”.

This coming December 17th, the most recent film directed by Clooney, “The Tender Bar”, starring Ben Affleck, will be released.
