Game of Thrones: The locations of the series will open their doors to tourists

We know that saying goodbye to ‘Game of Thrones’ is going to be very hard, but some advantage will bring the end of the HBO series. The chain (which we remember is already preparing prequels so that we do not completely abandon this universe) wants us all to feel like members of the Stark or Lannister family opening the doors of Westeros.

According to Variety, the locations of the series in Northern Ireland will open their doors to visitors starting next year under the name of ‘Game of Thrones Legacy’. And they promise that it will be “the greatest thing that the public has seen in scale and scope”. Among the sets that intend to open to the public once the series is finished we will find Winterfell, King’s Landing and Black Castle.

A tour of the most complete

During the visit, fans will be able to find the stages in which Kit Harington and company filmed, as well as costumes, objects, weapons, decoration, pieces of art, models and much more. Everything is completed with a tour of the Linen Mill studios, including more stages and props of all seasons of the series, and the idea they have is to include interactive and digital elements to cover the visual effects part of the series.

From what we see, HBO wants to turn these locations in Northern Ireland into a tour-level attraction for the study of ‘Harry Potter’ in Leavesden, England. In fact, they call it “a turning point for Northern Ireland in global tourism,” in the words of John McGrilen, CEO of Tourism NI. At the moment there is no exact opening date of ‘Game of Thrones Legacy’ nor is it known how much the ticket will cost, but at least we already have a reason to wish ‘Game of Thrones’ to end.
