Dragon Ball Z: the unusual fact that explains why Trunks did not use the dragon balls in his apocalyptic future

The most recent unheard of fact is located in one of the most exciting arcs that Dragon Ball Z had, that of the androids. In this part of the history of the Akira Toriyama franchise, we met Trunks, son of Vegeta and the only survivor in an apocalyptic future where evil reigns.

Trunks travelled to the past thanks to a time machine that the always surprising Bulma made; her mother. The goal was to find a way for a timeline not to suffer the same fate and also to find a solution for him to apply it to his future.

In the first dialogues of this time traveller, he receives the first question that crossed our minds for all of us who were watching the episode: And the dragon balls? To which Trunks logically replies that when Piccolo dies, Kami Sama also leaves and with them the option of going to Shenlong.

And before Piccolo was killed?

The Z Fighters go to the dragon balls while the fight is in full swing. History has shown us that it is a tool that is used in emergencies, but they always consider the possibility of Piccolo’s death and for this reason, they seek to anticipate this fact.

Gohan was a child and Trunks was a baby. Goku had already died from his heart disease and the battle was being lost. Then, the same young Saiyan, faced with imminent adversity, fled from the terrible scene to go in search of the dragon balls: it was the right time, Piccolo had not died.
