Dragon Ball: Is Bardock more powerful than Goku?

The Dragon Ball Super manga continues its course and is currently in chapter 81, which came full of emotions and intensity in the battle that is taking place. In this story arc, Granola: The Survivor, there are never-before-seen details of Goku’s family on planet Vegita. His father De he Bardock and his mother De he Gine have much more involvement than they did in the old adventures.

So, with these details, more was known about the power and ability for martial arts that Bardock came to have, despite being a low-class warrior in the different qualifications of the Saiyan race.

To put that in context. Goku is part of a battle alongside Vegeta and Granola. The three of them face the threat of the Heata army: four brothers led by Elec, who is accompanied by Oil, Macki and Gas.

The latter, like Granola, asked the Shenlong of the Cereal planet to be the most powerful warrior in the universe. And although they seem to be equal in level, the villain has the ability to unleash amazing power without limits in the Broly style.

It is a complex situation, but not unprecedented. Gas himself tells that in the past, when they were going to destroy all the members of the planet Cereal, a Saiyan similar to Goku saved the lives of Granola and Monite (a Namekian who also inhabits the planet) and that he also managed to control his onslaught.

Was Bardock stronger than his son?

As Gas confronts Goku, he inevitably remembers Bardock because of the resemblance between the two. Said memory makes him compare both fighters and tells Kakarot that he doesn’t have the same fire and intensity to handle a fight.

We see this intensity, bravery or determination of Kakaroto’s father in the Dragon Ball Z movie in which he dies, they destroy the planet and almost the entire Saiyan race.

So, that intensity should not be in doubt. However, said the internal fire does not mean that Bardock is more powerful than Goku.

The levels that the Saiyan raised on Earth reached during his youth and adulthood are incomparable with those of any Saiyan who lived at that time. In fact, in the same race as him, only Vegeta, Gohan and Broly can match or surpass him. Perhaps the Goten boys, Trunks and Pan will try it, but it is an uncertain future.

In such a way that no, Bardock is not more powerful than Goku. Of course, he has a technique with which he controlled Gas that has not yet been deciphered by the current protagonists of this fight.
