Deepika was born on 6 August 1986 in Pune, Maharashtra, India, and is currently 36 years old. She takes great interest in dancing and acting since childhood and always dreamed of becoming an actress. Her dream came true when she got her first role in the TV serial Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. She rose to fame with the TV serial Sasural Simar Ka, in which she played the lead role of Simar Prem Bhardwaj. She is making her Bollywood debut with JPP Dutta’s film Paltan.

She did her schooling from CBSE Board and graduated from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. After completing her studies, she started working with Jet Airways as an air hostess for about three years, but due to some health issues, she left the job and joined the entertainment industry. She got her first break as an actress in 2010 as Lakshmi in the TV serial Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi, which aired on Imagine TV. In 2011, she got her first lead role in the TV serial Sasural Simar Ka Simar as Prem Bhardwaj.

She made guest appearances on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7 in 2014 and the comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2015. In the same year, she participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 8. In 2017, she participated in another dance reality show Naach Bali Season 8 with her dance partner Shoaib Ibrahim and was one of the top 4 finalists.

In 2017, she made her guest appearance on the controversial reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 11. She was also a part of the reality TV show Entertainment Ki Raat (2017-2018). In 2018, she participated in Colors TV’s Bigg Boss and emerged as the winner.
