The famous playback singer Vani Jayaram died here on Saturday. He sang over 10,000 songs in 19 different languages, including the very popular Hindi song “Bole re papihara.” He was recently given the Padma Bhushan Award.

She was 77 years old and lived alone in a downtown apartment, where her body was found. There was a cut on her forehead, and police are still looking into it.

The singer’s housekeeper said that Vani Jayaram’s husband had died and that she didn’t have any children.

In her long and successful career of more than 50 years, she has sung many memorable songs, such as “Bole re papihara” from the 1971 Hindi movie “Guddi,” “Yezhu Swarangalukkul” from the 1975 Tamil movie “Apoorva Ragangal,” and “Malligai En Mannan Mayangum” (1974 Tamil movie Deerga Sumangali).

She has worked with famous musicians like M S Viswanathan and Ilaiyaraaja. Vani Jayaram has sung for people like J Jayalalithaa, who was once Chief Minister and a big star.

She was born Kalaivani in the city of Vellore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. She has sung over 10,000 songs in 19 languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.

Chief Minister M K Stalin said that he was saddened by her death and that he had just met her when she was given the Padma Bhushan Award. Stalin said in his message of condolence that it was sad that she had died before getting the Padma Bhushan Award. The governor of Telangana, Tamilisai Soundararajan, was one of many people who were saddened by her death.

She was a humble person who lived in the real world.

“She had rare qualities, like being able to appreciate the skills of other musicians,” said singer and musician Mahathi.

Police said that, after telling Vani Jayaram’s family, they were able to open the door to the apartment at 1:45 p.m. The singer’s maid said that she came to work on Saturday like she always does. She said to reporters here that she kept pressing the calling bell, but no one answered. She said that she told the singer’s family right away, and they told the police.

Malarkodi, who has worked as a maid in the singer’s home for the past 10 years, told reporters that Vani Jayaram was in good health. She was busy greeting guests and people who came to congratulate her on winning the Padma Bhushan award. The phone kept ringing, and she answered all of them and thanked everyone who spoke to her. The woman said, “She lived alone.”
