There is very little time left for the successful ‘Avatar: The Feeling of Water‘ streaming launch, but that hasn’t stopped James Cameron’s picture from adding another milestone to its commercial journey: it is the third feature film to gross more than $2 billion globally.
An impressive success
‘Avatar 2’ has amassed 2,303 million dollars since its December 16 release, but it now appears inconceivable that it will surpass the 2,400 million mark. And it is that it has added only 1.9 million more in North American theatres this past weekend.
Obviously, this means that “Avatar: The Sense of Water” will complete its theatrical run as the third highest grossing film of all time, with the first two spots still a long way away.
Remember that ‘Avatar’ is in first place with 2,923 million, while ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is in second place with 2,799 million.
‘The Feeling of Water’ will almost certainly return to theatres later, possibly with an expanded form or as a re-release right before the release of ‘Avatar 3’ in December 2024, but it will be nearly hard to snare. At least second to the Marvel film. Overall, a great accomplishment.
