Apple has announced the creation of “Echo Valley,” a thriller starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney about a mother’s willingness to go to extraordinary measures to save her child.

“Echo Valley,” directed by Michael Pearce and starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney, has been unveiled as Apple Original Films’ latest project.

Kate Garrett (Moore) is a recovering alcoholic who spends her days boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, a quiet and gorgeous property in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Claire (Sweeney), her daughter, arrives one night, terrified, trembling, and covered in someone else’s blood. “Echo Valley” grows from this simple notion into a heart-pounding thriller about how far a mother will go to preserve her child.

Variety was the first to report the news. Brad Ingelsby, the creator of the HBO series “Mare of Easttown,” wrote the script for the movie, which is produced by Scott Free Productions and The Walsh Company.

Executive producers will include Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Kevin Walsh, Scott Greenberg, Rebecca Feuer, and Nicole Jordan-Webber, as well as Erika Olde, Sam Roseme, and Tanja Tawadjoh. Production is set to begin this summer.
