Amy Schumer co-hosted the 2022 Oscars alongside her colleagues Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes. The comedian broke her silence on Will Smith’s beating of Cris Rock, after telling a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia.
Amy Schumer posted her opinion on her Instagram, expressing how shocked she was by what happened. “ I think we all agree that the best way to unravel what happened is to stream my @lifeandbethhulu series and see me on tour this fall,” she began writing.
“But seriously. I am still affected and traumatized. I love my friend Chris Rock and I think he handled it like a pro. He stayed up there and gave his friend @questlove an Oscar and the whole thing was so disturbing,” he added.
The comedienne continued: “ So much pain in Will Smith anyway I’m still in shock and dazed and sad. I am proud of myself and my co-presenters. But yes. Hoping this sick feeling goes away from what we all witnessed.”
So far, there are several celebrities who have shown their support for the comedian, rejecting Will Smith’s actions, such as Zoe Kravitz, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Alec Baldwin, among others.
So far, Chris Rock has not spoken about the incident, but it was reported that he ruled out taking legal action against the Oscar winner.
