A “change” takes place after going through a divorce for Anna Faris, she believes.
In an interview with Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast, the 45-year-old actress said that she had divorced from both of her first two husbands. From 2004 to 2008, Anna Faris was married to Ben Indra, and from 2009 until 2018, she was married to Chris Pratt, the father of her 9-year-old son Jack. In July of last year, Kate made public the news of her secret marriage to cinematographer Michael Barrett.
The two divorces Anna Faris has had have made her “like a veteran,” she said to Handler. “The first time, it really sunk in. Suddenly, I found myself in the body of someone I couldn’t place. I’ve always been the kind of person who always has a full fridge. As for me, I cooked for many people. I had buddies back then.”
There were just beer and mustard in the fridge at her apartment when she split with Indra, she said. “I was always leaving the house. No one to contact or phone and ask, “Can I do this?” was all I had to do.”
The actress said that it was a “very freeing” period of time, claiming that she “reverted” back to her teen self. To prove how dangerous I am, I went out to a pub. ”
“Afraid,” she added, adding, “I’m terrified.”
“Because I was afraid that I wasn’t a decent lover, I was quite self-conscious about my figure when I was younger. I was determined that no one would see it. On the other hand, I’d twirl around on the edge of it. I want the attention and admiration of others.”
Faris said the following about her marriage to Barrett: “Accepting a lot of love has been much simpler this time around. In my earlier years, I may have unconsciously relished a pursuit if there was a lot of affection around. Whatever it is, it does seem to be more wholesome to me at this point. It’s as if I’m capable of being loved.”
In an interview with her Anna Faris is Unqualified podcast in May 2021, Faris discussed how she now perceives her divorces differently than she did at the time they occurred.
After a breakup, “I believe at some point I realize that there were a lot of things that I overlooked that I really shouldn’t have,” Anna Faris told the New York Post. “With the benefit of hindsight, I can see that my hand was a little shaky. I don’t believe that was a choice made on its own.”
On the show, Faris spoke to a caller who had ended her engagement, which led Faris to suggest that she should have done the same.
Calling off an engagement is, in Faris’ opinion, a bolder, stronger, and better move than what she did. As a result of which he said: “I suppose everyone expects this to happen, so let’s just go ahead and do it.”
