CARDI B has furiously ‘hit’ a fan with her microphone after concertgoers groped the rapper during the explosive performance in London. The incident occurred after the Please Me artist lashed out at another fan for grabbing her microphone. Cardi B, 29, appeared to hit a fan with her microphone in a video recorded during her performance at Wireless Festival in London, England. The video, posted on TikTok, shows the rapper perched on the shoulders of a security guard as she tries to connect with concertgoers.
Cardi raps the verses of her 2017 hit Bodak Yellow as the guard tries to keep her out of the reach of fans. As he raises his fist in the air, he allows his fans to finish the chorus when a concertgoer got too close. The footage shows Cardi abruptly stopping her performance, picking up the microphone, and hitting an unseen fan. The concertgoer is below the crowd line, so there is no way of knowing if the hit landed or not.
However, it seems Cardi didn’t appreciate the groupie’s touch. Fans on TikTok rushed to the comments section to weigh in on the rapper’s loud reaction. One TikToker commented, “AS SHE SHOULD.” Another joke added, regarding Cardi’s hit singles as a wall while her mic rocked, “don’t miss out,” followed by various laughing emojis. A third fan wrote, “getting hit with a microphone is crazy.” While a fourth person commented, “Cardi always [proves] why she’s the queen of hip-hop.”
STRIKE TWO
Moments before fans tried to touch her, Cardi backed up and punched another concertgoer who tried to take her rapper’s microphone. The video shows Cardi B removing her microphone from the hands of a fan. He takes several hits at the attempted thief before continuing to recite his song lyrics. Other fans in attendance thought Cardi’s backlash was justified, as, after both incidents, the crowd roared with chants of “Cardi.” After the performance ended, a frustrated Cardi B ran backstage while waving friendly hands to some fans.
MORE ATTACKS FROM CARDI B
Cardi B recently missed the 2022 Grammy Awards and then made headlines after deleting her Twitter account when fans called her out. The Grammy Awards are often referred to as music’s biggest night and when Cardi B didn’t show up, several fans were upset and took to Twitter to express their disappointment. “I bet your son wouldn’t want you to be on your ass while you make fun of fans and never drop music,” one user wrote, via the New York Post.
“My thing is, why to exaggerate if you know [you’re] not going [to the Grammys] from the jump?” added another. “[Cardi B] needs to take her fans more seriously [because] this is getting ridiculous, I’m sorry.” Furious, Cardi then lashed out at fans and penned some controversial replies. “When did I get you all excited? Where and when do you ever [give] suggestions? Are you okay?” she wrote at the time. “I’m not going to [an] award show if I don’t have a new song to perform or if my album hasn’t come out.”
The rapper then reportedly told one fan to “drink acid,” adding that another can “suck d**k.” “[Cardi B] kiss your [autistic] kid with that mouth?” one user wrote after Cardi broke her silence, to which she replied, “None of my kids are autistic… Don’t project what you have on my kids, damn it. “As a result of the feud, Cardi decided to delete Twitter altogether, writing, “I’m deleting my Twitter but by God, I hate this f***kin dumba** fanbase. You got the slow chumps dragging my kids ’cause y’all [thought] I was gonna go to the Grammys and I didn’t go, what the fuck?
“When the hell did I even hint that I was going? Simply stupid. I cannot. I need to protect myself. At this time, it is unclear if Cardi will rejoin the social media platform, however, several users were upset by her comments towards the autistic community, calling them unnecessary.
