For the first time Harry was accompanied by Meghan to the Well Child Awards after several years of attending solo.

After years of attending Prince Harry alone at the WellChild Awards, this time he did it with his wife Meghan Markle. This event recognizes the brave little ones who are fighting against some serious illness in the United Kingdom. The two royals were with the children.

Mckenzie Brackley, four years old, was one of the protagonists to receive the Inspiring Child award in the category of 4 to 6 years, after fighting valiantly against the Acute Flaccid Paralysis.

The boy was excited to meet the real couple, but he made a confession, he does not like cameras at all. Harry and Meghan soon confessed that they also dislike the photos.

The child’s mother told how Mckenzie Brackley met Harry and Meghan. “They were lovely. They knew that he (Mckenzie) was scared by the cameras and they told him that they did not like to be surrounded by them either. They told him that it was amazing and that he should continue as he had been doing, and that he should take care of me. You will never forget this, even if you are only four years old, “he said.

Last year Prince Harry commented that this event recognizes the struggle of the little ones. “These awards were created to put the spotlight on the incredible group of brave children and young people, in their lives, and in the will that they and their families have to overcome adversity. Life for families taking care of seriously ill children is exceptionally hard and without the help of WellChild it is even worse. Over the years, the WellChild Awards have played a very important role in highlighting the needs of these families and the support that is desperately needed to meet the ever-growing demand, “he said in 2017.
